DESERT FIRE A single-player C&C scenario Side: GDI Author: Marc Fisher, compuserve 70711,3177 Since completing the basic scenarios for both sides in Command & Conquer, I've been partial to the basic GDI buildup-and-base assault type scenarios. Nod can be fun at times, but nothing gives me the satisfaction of amassing a good-sized GDI force for some Temple-bashing! Desert Fire isn't as intricate or fancy as some other scenarios I've done (and which will be released later). I didn't add any commando raids or gunboats, just a simple fight for survival for GDI against a large Nod base and, of course, the ubiquitous Nod nuclear missile. I did my best to program the AI to keep up the pressure as long as it can. Your objective should be to survive their best punches while you build up for the final battle. Cash shouldn't be a problem unless you squander your credits or lose your army defending yourself. A few crates here and there help, but you're going to have to mine alot of Tiberium and capture Kane's silos if you want more. I tried to give you the minimum start-out funds to give you a fair chance. Nothing makes me more frustrated than loading a scenario where I'm expected to take on 20 stealth tanks with 1,000 credits and a minigunner, and I won't do that to C&C players who download my missions. Gaining game balance isn't the easiest trick in the world when designing C&C scenarios, but I've tried hard to achieve it. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy Desert Fire! -M-
